      The rain and thunderstorm forecast for my location seems very inaccurate. It currently shows torrential rain and thunderstorms, but it’s actually completely dry, and other weather apps indicate no rain for at least another 2-4 hours.
      This seems to be a common occurrence, where the model is showing rain, thunder etc. but this doesn’t correspond to what’s happening outside.

        @Brian-Coleman

        where the model is showing rain

        The weather model does not show rain, it is a forecast.
        To see where it's raining see the Weather radar layer.
        Have you tried all the weather models available in your area?
        You don't say where you made this observation, so what can we say?

          Hi, I’m in Estepona, Spain. It’s still showing a lot of rain in the area, but we had a shower about 2 hours ago and nothing since. It’s sunny at the moment with scattered clouds. ![alt text](f59cc4f6-c420-433c-887f-bcc761084430-image.jpeg image url)

            BTW the radar is showing no rain for the next hour, which is totally at odds with the rain/thunder forecast

              Yes, but if you enlarge the area of radar detection you see that the radar still shows rain and thunder strikes on the Atlantic side of the coast.

              ECMWF model predicted a heavy thunderstorm over the Mediterranean side.

              The location of these convective rains is very difficult to predict and I wonder what weather apps you are referring to if they say they do not predict rain. It’s probably some radar extrapolation.
