Aladin model and Radar+ layer for widgets
-
Can we please have the opportunity to use Aladin as the forcast model for the widgets?
Can we please change the layer for the Radar widget to Radar+ or give the user option to choose which to use? -

It's quite confusing to see a list of 12 models in the widget settings, which are also different to what I can see when I open the Android app and also the web interface at my current location. On the web and Android app I can see the same 5 models (GFS, ECMWF, METEOBLUE, ICON-EU, ALADIN). In the widget settings are ECMWF, GFS, ICON, ICON-EU, ICON-D2, Arome, Meteoblue, NAM, NEMS, HRRR, ACCESS, UKV. What are all these other models? Why can I see them in the widget settings but not in the web and Android app? And why is ALADIN missing in the widget?

@meiersa78 Hi there, ALADIN should be already available in version 44, which is out now, in Android widgets.
Regarding other models in Android widgets, they are all available in the app around the World, however, if you use only central Europe, it is possible that you have never seen them in the app.
-
@Suty And in iPhones? When?
-
@Mhartain All Android and iOS devices should already offer version 44. However, local models in widgets are offered only in Android devices.
-
@Suty I mean widgets.
-
@Mhartain Okay, ALADIN should be there as well in widgets.
-
@Suty It is not, but it is newly Meteoblue, which is quite inaccurate in the Czech Republic. When can we expect Aladin?
-
@Mhartain Can you please share which version of Windy you have installed? You can find that info at the bottom of the app menu.
-
@Suty version 44.0.4 with Czech language
-
@Mhartain I am sorry about false information. I have installed the testing version, which should be released in a few days and there is already ALADIN model. So please be patient, we will release that model for widgets in a few days.
-
@Suty Great, that's good news. Thanks a lot, I'll look forward to it! Have a nice day and thanks at the same time for your help and answers!
-
@Suty Of course my joy, reading this was premature.
I got 44.01.0213, released the other day, and there is no difference in the widgets.
Again available are just the completely useless ECMWF and GFS and the almost completely useless ICON… -
@enterfornone What model would you like to get in widgets? Or what exactly is wrong on your end?
-
@Suty MBlue, Aladin are much better regional models.. For forecast I’m switching between them, depending on my location.
I’m sure Australia, Japan, US can benefit from their own regional models. I see no reason why any model that can display a forecast for a location would be missing from the widget option.
Today is a great example.
I’m in the mountains, between 1200 and 1700 meters. Hiking. Alone.
ECMWF shows heavy snow starting at 14:00. ICON shows moderate snow at 12:00 and heavy after 15:00
Only the detailed Aladin and MBlue show heavy snow starting at 11:00, as they make difference between 1700 meters and the plain below. Guess when the heavy snow started.
So do you think the difference matters? Three hours of heavy snow? I head out looking at the wrong forecast (like what the widget was showing), in this case later than I should’ve, it would’ve been quite worse experience than the pleasant hike I got.P.S. and don’t forget the watch app and complications. Same issue with the three inadequate global models there.

@enterfornone Okay, so you talk about iOS device, am I right?
