35% Premium subscription price hike?!
-
I've just received the news today...
"Windyty SE is increasing the price of your subscription "Windy.com - Weather Forecast (Windy Premium Yearly Subscription)" from $25.99/year to $34.99/year starting on December 28, 2024."
THAT'S INSANE! 😡😡😡

@howi Hello there, we decided to adjust pricing for the first time after many years, since we created the Premium and we are aware of upcoming negative feedback.
-
@Suty We all know that the economic climate has been turbulent. However, you could soften the significant hike in price by yearly increase at a lesser degree.
-
@Suty Is there any plans to merge Windy and Meteoblue subscription to one? Or at least provide discounts for users of one service for the other?
-
@Lure Hi, no, these services are offered separately for now.

I have been a faithful user and promoter of windy for years. Like others I am not happy with such a large increase. In this new way of Subscribing rather than buying apps and programs we move into a scenario where all subscriptions add their annual increases which makes a rather large accumulated cost increase to a family budget. If all apps increased by 25% the hit to the budget would be huge. This new wave puts people into perpetual debt.
Have a look at all the apps and subscriptions are increasing their rates. If you have many, Wow, that’s a big increase.
Thanks for a good site, but I will opt out.

@Suty So the reason to raise the price "just because everyone else is doing it" is a poor reason. No new features but raise the price of "Premium" 25% just because you haven't in the past? .. another poor reason.
-
@howi It's also insane how the spending power of the US dollar has - coincidentally - plummeted by 25% in the past 4 years because of......

@mprosto We are still working on new features and adding them all year round. You can check planned summary of the year 2024, which should be released soon. Our colleagues are working on getting new radars, satellite data, models. We also work on further improvements and new features in alerts, layers in general and also new perks for mobile devices and wearables.
