New satellite MTG difference in views

Example satellite view:
Moving the time slide ruler to the right does not change the image. The delay seems to be about 25 minutes.Example radar+ view at the same time:
Moving back to '25m ago' reproduces the first image.
The delay here seems to be only about 5-10 minutes.Wind was West, so clouds moved to the East.

Hi, this is because of Radar+ satellite image is extrapolated even in past to ensure smooth transition between the last available frame (which can be 25 minutes old) and the nowcast (red part of the timeline).

Hi,
this is not working here in the UK at the moment (21/12) with the radar and satellite not syncing correctly in the animation.
Also the cloud animation is producing strange eddie pattens again as it did a couple of months back.
If you could take look that would be great,
cheers,

Hi @alanduckers,
the Radar+, Radar, and Satellite layers use the same data. The difference is that Radar+ also performs the mentioned extrapolation of past satellite data. However, this extrapolation does not apply to radar data in the Radar+ due to technical constraints. As a result, and because radar providers can experience delays, you may notice that radar and satellite data do not always sync correctly in the Radar+ layer. For example, in the UK, the radar data currently lacks the most recent timestamp. Regarding the strange patterns, these might be caused by satellite data outages that are compensated for through extrapolation.

Many thanks for that but i would have thought your software would sync the times together of the available radar and satellite pics so everything looks correct. This would mean every 5 minutes for the radar data [not sure why you are missing the last timestep] and syncing with the 10 minute MSG data. If a timestep is not available then on either satellite or radar then your software should not update the page till a combined update is available appreciating that there may be a delay. This would make it look seamless in animation rather than the unsynced pictures at the moment.
Appreciate that may be harder to do in practice though,
Cheers
