We have a little shack / cabin on the sea shore inside one the many many inlets that zig and zag along the coast of British Columbia, Canada. Now that we are old folks we have the time and space in our lives to get up into the wilderness a week or two pretty much every month. After leaving Vancouver by car, taking an hour-long ferry, and then driving for 40 km, we arrive at a little marina where we keep our old beat-up 18 foot aluminum boat powered by 115 horsepower outboard. Once we load our gear, we travel for about 30 minutes heading North up the Sechelt Inlet to get to our off-the grid little hideaway.

The Sechelt Inlet is much less of a rolling sea than “outer waters” of the Georgia Straight / Salish Sea but it is still a little stretch of the great Pacific Ocean and with its various arms it makes up about 100 km of inland waters. The Inlet has a strong tide and lots of mountian landscape to channel the winds in all kinds of interesting (and sometimes challenging ) ways.

Windy has been our best friend for the last couple of years. We start to track the larger weather systems a few days before we plan to travel up the Inlet. The BC Coast gets “lots of weather”. We are in line for the huge storms that are generated in Arctic and also we are visited by the warm “atmospheric rivers” that often come from the warm regions of the Pacific around the Hawaiian Islands. We check the Windy App to determine if we would best shift our boat travel times in order to avoid one of those big swirling red circles that are often heading our way.
Thank you Windy for being such an accessible source of critical information about those wondrous weather systems that always arising and dissipating in our part of the world.

@Polina-Nozdrina I'm a sailor, hiker, and one time pilot so I've used a lot of weather apps. Windy is my go to weather app today, and I'm impressed with how the team continues to push hard to make it better. Congrats to the team!

Thanks a lot for adding the minimum temperature and the Aladin model to the widget, as well as radar predictions (although it is still in its infancy and is not of any use in reality). I was looking for that things, probably alongside with a many of other people. Special thanks to @Suty, cheers!

As a storm chaser from the USA who frequently travels around the world—and especially loves cruising—I can confidently say that Windy is the best weather app out there! You provide radar data from countries that no other app covers, and the ability to compare various computer models in one place is invaluable.

When I’m at sea, your wind and wave forecasts are incredibly accurate, helping me plan and know what to expect while sailing. Whether I’m chasing storms on land or navigating the open ocean, Windy is one of my go-to tools. It’s a five-star app that I use almost daily, and I truly appreciate all the effort that goes into making it such a reliable resource. Thank you for everything you do!

Looks exciting. Have not been using Windy Premium for over a year and with these new features I definitely will be resubscribing once my Windfinder subscription expires.

Originally, Windy has been my "go to" app to view the current, and predicted weather for skiing. Because of the app's amazing accuracy, it wasn't long before I was able to adapt Windy into my everyday life for all outdoor activities, near and far.
Windy has been in my pocket everywhere I go!
