      Just wondering why the current fires in Los Angeles Palisades area are not showing any increased PM2.5, aerosols, CO₂ on the Windy maps for the area:

      There should be a plume of PM2.5, aerosols and NO2 right showing up with a fire that size.

        Today NO2 plume is clearly visible thanks to satellite detection. It needs some accumulation.

          There are several reasons that may explain this:

          Data Lag: Data from satellites and air quality measurements may not be updated immediately on Windy. It can take some time for the system to integrate new data into the maps.

          Measurement Algorithms: The algorithms used by Windy to detect and display PM2.5, aerosols, and CO₂ may not be sensitive enough to capture low concentrations or small smoke plumes, especially if the fire has not fully developed.

          Weather Conditions: Wind patterns and other atmospheric conditions can disperse pollutants quickly, which may affect their visibility on the maps.
