Interpretation of tide station icons - what do they mean?
-
My tide icons are a ship, up/down arrows, L and H. Where is the legend for these icons? Or can someone tell me what they mean?
-
I idefix37 marked this topic as a regular topic

@gsmith73
It just means there is a tidal gauge station at this location and when tidal data is available you see at same place that the tide level is upward / downward / high / low.
In addition at any location over water, the forecast Tide & waves shows the graphical variation of the level. -
@idefix37 OK
So please confirm: up arrow is rising tide, down arrow is falling tide, L is low tide (how long?), and H is high tide?
-
Also, what is the ship symbol?
-
@gsmith73
Yes.
How long is the low tide? Sorry I don’t know how you can consider the duration of the low tide.Try the tide chart in the local forecast table

As said the ship symbol just means there is a tidal gauge station at this location, I guess.
