Hi, would be possible to add apparent wind speed and angle for the boat in planning?

        Hi,
At least you can display the wind direction relative to the boat course.
In More option select Left to right (or bottom to top) to imagine your boat sailing from left to right (or bottom to top) of the planner table and to get the wind direction relative to your course. But it is not the apparent wind which is the resulting of your speed and the true wind speed.

The default setting is North up.
These settings allow to see if you will be heading into the wind or getting too close your course.

@idefix37 I am seeking a solution to determine the apparent wind angle and speed based on my course and speed. This is a crucial aspect of planning for ships equipped with wind-assisted propulsion systems.

I know what I was showing is not a way to get the apparent wind.
But are you sure that it would be a relevant number since you are entering an AVERAGE speed for the entire trip.
I am afraid that the value would not be accurate enough unless you are talking about wind assisted motor boats. Maybe in that case you can guarantee a constant and regulated speed ?

@idefix37 Yes, exactly. Commercial vessels typically operate at a relatively constant speed to meet their required ETA. However, ships equipped with wind-assisted propulsion systems (WAPS) can reduce engine power and maximize the use of their sails. The entire optimization process revolves around the angle of attack (AoA) and finding the right balance between extending the route and gaining additional speed from the sails.
