Subject: Agricultural Frost Forecast Module Suggestion
Dear Windy Team,
I have been using Windy for a long time, and it has been amazing to see how much you have improved over the years. Your detailed weather forecasts, especially for agriculture, have been incredibly useful.
That’s why I believe adding a frost risk prediction module would be a valuable enhancement.
My suggestion:
A system that monitors nighttime temperature and dew point changes to predict frost risk.
A color-coded frost risk indicator on the map.
Alerts and notifications for areas with potential frost risk.
This feature could be a crucial tool for farmers and agricultural professionals, helping them take early precautions while also expanding Windy’s reach within the agricultural sector.I truly appreciate Windy’s continuous improvements and hope you will consider this suggestion.
Thank you! -

Hello,
This frost alert would be useful for some types of plants like trees because in Windy, as in most weather apps, the predicted temperature is the temperature at 2 meters height.
It is important to note that some crops are more sensitive to frost at ground level (grass temperature). At this level, in some weather conditions, the temperature can be quite lower than the minimum temperature at 2 m.

Unless Windy develop special algorithms, you can already set an Alert for low 2m temperature and clear sky and low wind conditions. Only dew point is missing in the current alert system. Personally I would set 2 or 3 alerts at same location with a different mix of these parameters.
