Customizing Color Scales not working
-
@hangInThere Hi, we are planning to release the new update of our app today, it should help.
-
@Suty
This issue with color scale appeared with the last version of the website, not the mobile app if you refer to it. -
@idefix37 You are right, bad words of mine. I meant the update of the web app.
-
@Suty Hello, I just checked again and FYI it's still not fixed.
-
@marko-rogan What exactly do you have as an issue?
-
@Suty I'm experiencing an issue with custom colors for the "Wind" and "Wind Gusts" tabs on the Website ONLY. When I open the "Wind" tab, I see the default color scheme. This is despite my custom colors appearing as saved and active in the "Customize Color Scale" section, they don't apply. I have to click "Import / Export Gradient" whereby I don't change anything that's in the "Import Gradient" window and import the gradient that's already populated in the field to load the colors. If I then click "Save Created Color" and reload the page, the default colors reappear. It's as if the saved custom colors wont load and each time I reload the page the default colors load for some reason.
I don't understand how to explain this more clearly. I know what I'm doing, please trust my words are accurate.

I get the same issue mainly with Wind and Temperature, sometime with Pressure too. This annoying glitch is mainly in the iOS app now (v45.06), previously it was in the browser version only.
When opening the app I get the default colors in these layers. I need to go to Customize color scale and just press “Save created colors”. Then back to the map color in Wind (for instance) are still the default ones, so it is necessary to select another layer and then back to Wind to get the customized colors.
In the browser version it is easier. At opening I get default colors for Wind. I just need to select another layer and then back to Wind to get the customized ones. Safari with v45.0.6.
By the way in the new browser version I don’t have the wind particles even they are enabled. -
@marko-rogan @idefix37 I will focus on this issue and try to forward that to colleagues for further investigation. We will do our best to fix this bug into the next major version. Thank you for your patience.

This doesn't work for me. I also have 0 issues with the ipad and iphone app.

In the desktop app my modified colour palette is not saved, even though I press the 'save' button. On reopening the app the colours have returned to their defaults.

@Suty Just wanted to report if this today is the next big version it's still not fixed.
-
@marko-rogan I have still noticed minor bugs. While the custom colors do appear when opening Windy for Temp or Wind, while the custom map opens, the temperature plots and the bottom legend still show default.
If you want to fix this issue, here are steps:
- Go to Menu,
- Press Settings,
- Then scroll down to Custom color scale
- When you are in temp custom page, scroll down and press Add new line once without doing anything else
- After that, it should be fixed. You will have to do this every time you launch the app.
Despite some lingering, it's a whole lot better then when Version 45 first came out. Repairs aren't urgent, they can wait until when the next version launches, I can adapt to errors for now. Windy is my favorite go to app.
