Suggestions Regarding Fairness to Subscribed Users Due to Features in Early Windy Versions
-
Dear Windy Team,
Hello! Based on some video materials I’ve recently watched, I’ve noticed that some individuals are using early versions of the Windy app, downloaded via PC app emulators, to access weather forecasts for up to 10 days. This method not only removes watermarks but also allows them to view precipitation forecasts for the next 10 days. I’m unsure whether this is due to potential differences between the PC and mobile versions, or if the 10-day forecast feature from older versions can still be accessed through certain techniques. If this is indeed the case, I believe it creates an unfair situation for subscribed users. I hope your team can look into this matter and address it in future updates to ensure fairness in the experience for all users.
Thank you for your hard work and excellent product!
Best regards,

@5217-No Hi, can you please share any source with these apps or videos?

@Suty First Issue: I’m unsure whether the mobile version of Windy supports 10-day weather forecasts.
Second Issue: I cannot confirm the specific software version he used. I only saw in his live stream that he installed a version of the Windy app on a mobile phone emulator downloaded to his PC. The exact version is unclear, as this was just a brief clip from his video. According to his demonstration, he was able to generate 10-day weather forecasts without watermarks, including precipitation forecasts for the 10-day period. -
@5217-No Yes, it does. Mobile apps offer 99% of the desktop features. Okay this is difficult to tell what exactly was used there.
