      In Australia , they are called cyclones but listed as hurricanes . sigh

        The right name is tropical cyclone. Cyclone is just a generic word for wind swirling around a low. There are extra-tropical cyclones.
        In other areas they are call typhoons or hurricanes. You may understand Windy can’t use 3 words for the same phenomenon. Tropical cyclone, hurricane and typhoons. Or choose one of them by country, just a bit tricky.

          Yep, same storms just different names depending on the region. Cyclone in Australia, hurricane in the US—it can definitely get confusing!
