      Hello,

I'm writing to ask if the windy team is aware of any errors in the radar data here in northeastern Brazil (for the cities of Maceio-AL and Petrolina-PE) and also to find out if there is a return date.

      on the 12th it was

      day 13 missing data

      day 17 null

I've been without radar data here since 12/03/2025, however the radar itself is still working, a quick look at the official website of CEMADEN (the organization that holds the data)

so i believe it's a problem with windy's data capture with cemaden, i'm waiting for an answer! i really like windy's visualization compared to other official sites, especially the noise filter, very good!

      Cheers

      Leite, MHF.

Hi @Matheus-Leite, thank You for reporting the issue and noticing the discrepancy. We are currently using REDEMET as our source for data for this particular radar sites. Unfortunately, the data is not available there:

I will check the CEMADEN to see if the data can be used.

          @Matheus-Leite
It seems that data for REDEMET is back again

@Filip_K ah! so that's it, you get the data from redemet (Brazil's official Aeronautics website), the advantage here is that you can get the data by API! which CEMADEN's website doesn't allow (which I think sucks!)

unlike some countries, (or not), here in brazil we have problems with different agencies with different fronts for the same case! for example, CEMADEN is the agency that takes care of the MACEIO RADAR (along with other agencies, such as UFAL, federal university of alagoas), CEMADEN being a monitoring and warning center for natural disasters, however, we have the national meteorological institute that takes care of some radars in the south of the country, as well as the FAB (brazilian air force) that takes care of others in some airports! the data is very dispersed!

even with these integrations (REDEMET), there are failures (as shown above) as well as the city of natal-RN, radar is working on the cemaden site but redemet is not getting the data constantly.

I've had some recent problems with this, where rainfall and current alerts from cemaden are impossible to obtain by API, while from INMET I can make requests by API.... I had to develop a web scrapping for cemaden data lol.

I know it's difficult due to the lack of unity, on my side (Brazil) I apologize, but it also helps to fight privatizations and so on and so forth, another topic for another debate but I believe it's the magic of programming

            Leite, MHF.

Amen! Brazil is currently by far the most complicated (in terms of source fragmentation) radar-data import pipeline that runs on our site.

As for now, we're processing data from 6 different sources...
