Bottom of app gets hidden under Andoid navbar (45.0.6)
-
I updated today to version 45.0.6 (from 44.1.2) of the Android app, and on the first start the app looks fine. If I get back to it a bit later, then the app expands all the way down on the screen, so that important UI elements get hidden behind the 3-button navigation.
If I "force close" the app, it works correctly again for a while. I don't know what triggers it, I couldn't find a reliable way to reproduce the issue.
Affected version: 45.0.6
Previous version that worked: 44.1.2
Phone: Google Pixel 8 Pro
Android version: Stock Android 15, March update (Build BP1A.250305.019) -
@windyati Exactly the same on my Xiaomi phone. I know Xiaomi breaks 'standard Android' things, but since you're on a Google Pixel, there's definitely something wrong with the Windy update. It worked up until the previous version. Also, all other apps are fine, only Windy V45.0.6 is broken.

@meiersa78 on my Xiaomi 14 Ultra the same problem!

@Sailor-j @meiersa78 Do you have this issue from the start of the app instantly?
-
@Suty Yes.

@Suty Yes

@meiersa78 exact same issue on Samsung S25 Ultra, worked well until latest version of Windy.

I have exactly the same symptoms on exactly the same hardware and software (latest update) as the OP @windyati
I didn't realize that killing the app was a workaround, but after reading this report, I confirmed that the issue is not present immediately after killing the app.
Otherwise, the issue is frustrating because I can't get back to the 1hr forecast resolution since the app never seems to remember that I prefer the 1hr resolution that I pay for. 😊
Google Pixel 8 Pro
Same software update that windyati reported -
Same on Honor 5 pro.

@sami-bv We are aware of that and our colleague is already preparing the fix. Thank you for your patience.

Hey @tibbst, this was an issue for me as well. Turns out that there is a well hidden setting for this (and I think this is a recent addition). Go to Settings, scroll down to "Start-up layer and location" and click on it to fold out the settings, and under that there's "Remember 1h/3h setting".
@Suty FYI this remembering the 1/3h setting is very hidden and it doesn't even fit in logically the startup layer and location part. It doesn't relate to either, and it's hidden behind the foldout too. Probably should be in the list of general settings above. I thought my app is buggy for a few weeks before I found it. EDIT: especially that the default for it is off, which I doubt is what most people would want.

Yes, you are right and I stumbled upon this option after complaining about it. I really feel like the most unintuitive part is that it defaults to off. But, at least that part of the concern is resolved for me, at least.
It isn't really a question that I need answered, but I wonder if this option to remember 1h vs 3hr is a new feature or if I've simply never noticed it.
