Something that looks like the meteoblue's "wind" layer, for a concrete example.</p>
<p dir="auto">The particle animation is definitely nice, but after using windy for more than one year, I'm no longer here for the wow factor and I find it doesn't offer the same legibility as a regular field. It often also gives me the impression of a false sense of precision.</p>
<p dir="auto">I know I can switch it off in the preferences, but that hides the wind direction from the map, making it half useless.</p>
<p dir="auto">I assume the data is there on the client, so rendering an arrow field locally is probably possible, and likely even less expensive to render compared to a boring arrow field.</p>
