I tried the "Share route" feature, but the same thing happened to me: it seems not working between two mobile devices.
What does work is creating a GPX of your route and sending it by email to a mobile device, but this is only possible from the browser version. It's not possible from the mobile app.

But after a recent upgrade, when I sent my planned route to my friend, he couldn't open it on his phone, but it worked on the computer. I think it's a BUG.
