Feature Request: Save 15 Day Forecast as jpeg
-
We are cruising sailors who use Windy all the time but frequently we find ourselves out of phone range for days at a time. For this reason when we do have internet connectivity we save the forecast for the next period by saving a series of screenshots - scrolling horizontally to get each piece of the forecast grid. This is quite painful as is retrieving the correct screenshot when we don't have connectivity.
- The easy version of this request would be a button on the forecast grid that allows the user to save the whole forecast grid as a jpeg or pdf with some sort of useful default name for the saved file (date + location).
- The super cool version would allow forward caching of user defined locations and views so Windy could have some limited capability in off-line mode.
Love your work. Keep it coming.

@Jeanandcam-Hingfaymcwatters Hi, we already tested this feature in the last year, but there was no feedback and usage about this, so we decided to stop this project.

A few comments regarding your request.

Do you often make long passages lasting 15 days while always remaining offline?
Beyond a week, the forecasts become very uncertain on a local scale. -
If Windy allowed you to retrieve jpeg or pdf files over 15 days, this would give you a very high number of files ! (120 files over 15 days every 3 hours for only one parameter).

A simpler way that I used : with a screen recorder (that is integrated into my tablet, but some free screen recorders are easy to find on the web) I keep 5 to 8 days of wind forecasts same as in Windy, in only one file just pressing the play button and the one of the screen recorder.

@idefix37 Yes good points all. I'll see if I can find myself a good screen recorder.
I agree with your comments about not going two weeks without an update - it is perhaps truer to say that every 3 or 4 days when connectivity is sketchy it is useful to look at the full 15 day forecast.
Thanks for your reply.
