If you want to get 2 independent alert types, you can set these alerts in 2 places very close together. First choose these 2 locations as Favorites by clicking on the map. Then change their name.

Hi. In the set up alert tutorial (https://community.windy.com/topic/3952/how-to-set-up-a-windy-alert/2) you can choose the model from wich you want the alert, but in the web app I don't have this option. I think it's important to choose the model since I define the thresholds according to a specific model. If there is no selection option, which model is used? Regards!

@vicstormchaser said in How to set up a Windy Alert:

Found the alert pop up but there's nothing for storms. Are there plans for the storm warnings from the Bureau to be passed on in the future?

I am also very interested in this feature. Is it possible to set this up on the app?

I wish I could suspend individual alerts instead of only just canceling them. In fact today I can't even find out where all my alerts is stored.

I’m quite sure you know where your alerts are displayed.
                In main menu, select Favorites.
Click on the small pencil to see and edit your alerts (for those of your favorites shown with a small bell in front of the favorite name).

                Then suspend the alert.

@idefix37 It turns out the "suspend alert for some time" button is only available if one clicks on the link sent to one's mailbox. Otherwise for me it the pencil is just a "rename" link, like the last pencil in your image, the one that you didn't put a red arrow next to.

So I don’t know why you still receive alerts if your favorite is not set for an alert. I suggest that you delete this alert (not only suspend it) and set the alert later again. Your list of favorites should look to the picture above.

Cloud setting in the alert does not seem to be working properly. Setting full cloudiness or no cloudiness produces the same result.

@korina I selected a clear sky in the alert settings.

I received an alert where you can see full cloud cover.

                            I am quite surprised.

I would like to add that for the icon model, the symbolic notation (cloud, sun) of cloudiness is not consistent with the cloud cover plot (in the attached example, we observe a cloudless sky).

@pi3-141592 Hello, the grey shades are linked to relative humidity, not cloud cover. More info here - https://community.windy.com/topic/14827/how-to-read-meteogram/7

Thank you for the quick reply. I have read the content of the page to which you sent me a link. I think I was misunderstood. The attached figure shows that the cloud cover (3-5 km high) is adequately reflected in the pictograms at the top of the graphic only in two cases. The case with question marks is not understandable to me.

Hi there. I have a need to set up two different alerts for the same location. How can I do it? The examples are simple: I need a warning alert when high speed wind for 3 hours in a row blows from north (making it cold and dangerous). And I need another cheering alert when such a strong wind blows for more than 6 hours but from south! Those are different situations and I need separate alerts.

                                        Hi,
The workaround is to set 2 independent alerts close to your location.

The time scale, is UTC? Or local time?

Alerts are triggered by values shown in Meteogram of the favorite location, and so these are local time.
