Distance and Planning

Following the recent update, the Distance and Planning feature is not functioning correctly. I have a boat route saved in my Favourites section. After refreshing the page and toggling the speed, an error message (Some error occurred. Please, try it again) appears time (refer to the attached screenshots). To resolve this issue, I have to close the Windy window, restart it, and reload my route each time.

Only one thing seems strange, because I replicated this issue, when I display satellite and radar layer, but you sent the Waves layer. Does this occur all the time after the refresh? -
@Suty Update for you: Colleagues released small update which fixed this issue. Please let me know, if you still see any issues.

Have the same problem. But after the small update still the same. After I reloaded route and toggle speed, again the error msg: Some error occurred. Please try again.

@bobkristel Okay and do you have this issue with certain layers or all of them? Can you check that for us?

Hi Suty, being a seafarer like Dunedin Star, I'm mostly interested in waves. But you're right, in the wind layer all seems to work correctly. I didn't try the other layers.
Stupid I didn't try that before... sorry for that! -
@Suty as per your message, I checked the other layers and didn’t find any issues. However, the waves layer is the most important for me, and the problem still persists

@Dunedin-Star So you open the route planner in the Waves layer, create a route and then if you refresh, the issue is there, correct?

@Suty No, the route is saved in my favourites. Each day I adjust the starting position (Waves layer) based on my current coordinates, then refresh the page. After that, the speed switch turns off automatically. When I turn it back on, an error message appears.

Improvisation: What helps if you start Windy, choose the wind-layer, load your route, toggle speed on and then change to waves layer. For me that works, but it's a slight D-tour. -
@Dunedin-Star Hi, I reported the issue to colleagues for the fix, so hopefully, it will be solved soon in the next update.

Having an issue with the "distance and planning" as well. When the boat speed is being changed from the default to a different value, an error message appears. (Wave layer in the background).

Hi all,
The same issue happens to me as well. Not only the speed is not possible to be adjusted but also the sliding "start-finish" bar showing the duration of the plan does not appear over the dates/days as usually.Regards,

Hi,
The “Start” and “Finish” tags appear when you set the speed. Since the last update, the button to activate the speed is not visible so these tags are not displayed. But you can click just in front of the word “Speed” to enter or change it.
This bug should be fixed shortly.
