I'm having a hard time understanding the drought layers. How are there areas showing drought and negative moisture anomalies in areas of Kentucky that had recent historic flooding?

@jgbrown14 Hello, which drought monitoring layer are you referring to? Both Drought Intensity and Moisture anomaly show deviation from the long-term average for a specific place and time. For these, too, there might still be a negative anomaly if the soil is drier than usual (average of 1961-2010 period). On the other hand, the Soil Moisture layer shows actual modelled soil moisture content, so in case of a heavy rain event, this one should capture it in "real-time".
