      Hi Windy team and community,

I'm reaching out to discuss the satellite imagery playback speed on Windy.com, specifically when using the animation options for:

      • 6 hours
      • 12 hours
      • Archive (1-day)

The issue is that the animation plays too fast, making it difficult to:

      • Clearly observe cloud movement and development,
      • Estimate the speed and timing of approaching weather systems,
      • Analyze storm or cyclone progression over time.

This rapid playback rate reduces the usefulness of the satellite view for weather monitoring, forecasting, and educational purposes. Even when paused, manually scrubbing frame by frame is not as smooth or precise as needed.

It would be very helpful if Windy could:

      • Add playback speed controls (slow, normal, fast),
      • Allow for manual frame-by-frame navigation,
      • Or provide a custom animation speed setting under preferences.

Is anyone else finding it difficult to use the current speed for detailed cloud analysis? Would love to hear thoughts from the community or feedback from the developers.

      Thanks,
      Lokesh
