Hard to read/ambigous selection in the UI

When setting up alarms it is very hard to see if an option is checked or unchecked. The UI design/colors is badly chosen. (android app, web as well)

When configuring an alarm the selected notification hours have gray background when selected (at least I think it is like that, I cannot really tell).

When configuring the details of the alarm it looks like this. Here selected options have dark background, do they? It the other way round! It's very hard to tell which options are selected and which are not. It might happen that the users configure the opposite of what they actually want, due to this unclear UI design.

Please, fix the design to make it clear and unambigous which options are selected and which are unselected!
