Setting start up location on iphone
-
I've used Windy for years and just upgraded to premium.
I have my desktop set up with my home in the center and zoom maybe a 5 mile radius, and wind as the layer. The wind speed and direction at my home is displayed, overlayed near my home.
On my iphone, I was able to get the location and zoom (I noticed it said level 16) to be saved at open, but I can't figure out how to get it to display the current wind and direction. Also, my desktop has, along the bottom, dates and hours, under which are cloud/sun, temp, rain, wind, gusts, and direction. How do I get this to appear on my iphone too?
It makes it harder for me as I am 73 years old and the windy app does not allow zooming; I can't read everything that is there.

On iPhone in Settings you can choose your location at starting. But you need to enable Windy in the GPS setting of your device.
Then click on screen to see the crosshairs and if necessary move the map to get to crosshairs above a location. .Click on Forecast for this location to get the detailed table
At bottom of the menu see Tutorials

@idefix37 Thank you. The "Forecast for this Location link was not visible on my screen until I scrolled up.
In iphone settings>windy app, I have location set to While Using. I changed it to Always, and the same following problem happens. When I enabled GPS location and zoomed in over my house, then close the app and open it again, it reverts back to the unzoomed view of all of Oregon and Washington. If I use IP address, I get an even more zoomed out view to include Wash, OR, and several miles of pacific ocean. Only if I Use last location can I get the app to start zoomed in over my house.

So finally your problem is only a question of zoom level. Unfortunately it is not possible to set a custom zoom level in the mobile app.
