      Hi,
      Sattahip rain radar out since 22/04/2025, and it looks that it will not comeback online.

      Is there another source to cover the affected region?

      https://weather.tmd.go.th/satLoop.php

      Regards,
      Dirk

        Hi @Zwanske, there is, but it is also from TMD and it shows same data:

          @Filip_K,

          The radar you mention is for a total different part of Thailand …. North TH, Myanmar& Laos.
          The Sattahip radar covers the south eastern part near Cambodia.
          So your proposition is not applicable to the situation.

          Regards,
          Dirk

            Hi @Zwanske, You have to change to Sattahip in the upper right corner to see Sattahip data: Screenshot_20250515_093232.png

              @Filip_K, @Zwanske,
              Hi,
              There's another radar call Pluakdaeng, it's in the same province as Satthahip radar (Rayong province)... https://file.royalrain.go.th/opendata/radar_data/cappi/?station=pluakdaeng
              I think the Satthahip radar is no longer in service.

              I hope Windy implements this radar data soon!

              Cheers,
              Travis

                Hi @aznareus, thank You for letting me know. I'm unfortunately unable to access the data through the link You provided (connection times out) and can't find it on TMD web either. Does it currently work for You?

                  @Filip_K I could still access the website maybe you could try again?
                  this is the list of radars from the Department of Royal Rainmaking and Agricultural Aviation.
                  https://www.royalrain.go.th/royalrain/sct_Radar.aspx Pluag-Daeng radar is the last radar on that page (bottom right).
                  And again, the direct link to that radar data is..

                    @aznareus trying now, still no luck. Maybe it is not accessible from Europe? Or maybe it is accessible via IPv6 only. What does output from wget look like on Your machine? This is what it looks like on mine:

                      @Filip_K Yea.. seems that the website is not accessible outside Thailand, I have also checked with my friends.

                      I am using Windows so that I don't have wget

                      There is kinda TMD website that uses the same data from Royal Rainmaking radar maybe you could start with this?

                          @Filip_K Would it help if I make you a VPN connection available from my server here in Thailand (I am located in the area that is now cut off because of Sattahip shutdown)?

                          I can access https://file.royalrain.go.th/opendata/radar_data/cappi/?station=pluakdaeng. I have a fixed external IP.

                            @corsita Just asked Chatgpt about the location of the radar an Pluak Daeng, Rayong.

                            Within other information it says: Major weather platforms such as The Weather Channel, AccuWeather, Weatherbug, Tomorrow.io, Windy, and Meteoblue display live radar images over Ban Pluak Daeng, Rayong

                              Hi @corsita, I am planning to use the source @aznareus mentioned (https://www.radartambon.com/เรดารฝนหลวง/pdg_tb).

                              Can you confirm that it contain the same data as royalrain.go.th? If so, then VPN won't be necessary, as radartambon.com is accessible for us.

                                @Filip_K Just checked. Looks to be the same data. Only difference is that radartambon is about 5 to 6 minutes "behind" royalrain

                                Thanks for taking care. Many locals, fisherman and tourists South of Chantaburi on Koh Chang, Koh Mak and Koh Kood are going to be happy to see that data back online.

                                    Thanks for bringing this up, Dirk. I noticed the Sattahip radar issue too—it’s definitely been offline for a while now. In the meantime, I’ve been using Windy and AccuWeather as alternatives, though the local precision isn’t quite the same. Hopefully, TMD updates us soon on a fix or replacement.
