          @igorxxxmirror said in About Windy:

What does height mean? Above sea level? My height is 157ft

The "Height" word stands for the height above ground/terrain.
The "Altitude" word stands for the height above mean sea level (MSL).
"Elevation" word stands for (in aviation mainly) the height of an airport or station above MSL.
"Flight Level - FL" word stands for (in aviation) the vertical altitude at standard pressure, nominally expressed in hundreds of feet. The standard pressure can be found in the ISA - International Standard Athmosphere conditions. This pressure is 1013,25 hPa or 29,92 inHg. An example: FL300 means 30.000 feet, it have to include always 3 characters, so in case of 9000 feet, it will be FL090.

Anyway the pressure is decreasing with increasing altitude, so do the air density.
Pilots must change their altimeter setting during the climb session from QNH (athmospheric pressure adjusted to mean sea level) to standard (1013,25 hPa or 29,92 inHg) at a given altitude, the so called "Transition Altitude", and backwards during the descent session they have to change the altimeter setting back to local QNH at an altitude so called "Transition Level".

@covermaker You sound like a developer to start seeding the idea of selling your app. Americans...

                          Hi Ivo,
I recently (2 months ago) discovered the windy app and I just love it!
I have been sailing in the Canary Islands (have been sailing in Northern Europe fo many years) for a year and stryggled with the wind never corresponded to other prognoses. But since I discovered windy the winds and waves never hardly give give me a surprise anymore.

You say you have not found a business model yet. I think that is the beauty of your work. You can be your own master.
I beleive there are millions of people like myself who would be more than happy to make a small donation, like crowdfunding. Have you thought of that? Maybe there is a set up for that already?

                          Keep up the good work!
                          Absolutely fantastic!!!
Lots of love from me ❤❤❤

@csabatatar Hi! I have recently update my windity app, and i notices that on the previous version I could read clouds altitudes in feets or meters. On the new version i dont know where to configure this so as to read it in feets.
                            Thank you!
                            Victor

Windy seems to be the best app right now. I used the Storm, but I already uninstalled it and only use Windy, which has everything I need. Congratulations!

Hi Ivo and team. Amazing work. So useful. Could you possibly provide the healthy ranges for 'co concentrations'? Can't find it on Google and usually the ranges are offered using "ppm". Many thanks!

Strange that you find nothing via Google, I’ve found several articles on the web. Here is a good article from the Poison Control Centre of Belgium, but in french:
                                    https://www.centreantipoisons.be/monoxyde-de-carbone/le-monoxyde-de-carbone-co-en-d-tail/quelles-sont-les-concentrations-toxiques-de
Sure you will find a way to translate it in your native language. A little exercise is good for your brain !!

                                          1 ppm = 1000 ppb
                                          1 ppb = 1/1000 ppm

ppb is a unit of proportion equal to 1 part per billion,
and ppm is a unit of proportion equal to 1 part per million.
