Problem with weather radar data in Korean region - duplicate signals of the same cloud appear on Windy's data
-
Hello, There are some inaccuracies regarding weather radar data in Korean region.
This is the weather radar data from Korea Meteorological Administration, captured at 2025-05-16, around 4PM KST.
And this is the weather radar data from Windy, caputured at around the same time as above.Windy's data differs quite a lot from Korea Meteorological Administration's data. In windy's weather radar, there are many duplicate signals of the same cloud in windy's data, seen in below picture. This is not present on Korea Meteorological Administration's data.
With rainy season coming up in Korean peninsula, it would be grateful if this bug is fixed...

Hi @shi-jung-lo, thank You for reporting the issue. There is most likely wrong geo-reference of the data (wrongly placed on map). I will look into this.

Hi @shi-jung-lo, as suspected, data from
MYN
site (Mt. Myeonbong) was incorrectly placed. I have reworked the processing for KMA data and this should no longer be an issue.New data should now also be available about 4 minutes earlier than before.

@Filip_K Thanks a lot!
- Weather radar in Korean region has been offline for about an hour since 2025-05-22 9:30 AM KST, perhaps it is just a temporary error...?

@Filip_K Yup it's working again. Thanks again!
