    Can anyone tell the meaning of this pattern, displayed in the wake of high a intensity lightening storm?

          Thanks! That what I thought, but I had not seen that done on a weather map before and couldn't find it in the documentation.

            Why are you trying to make up a crazy answer when the explanation has been clearly given above ?
            These are the areas where lightning was observed during the radar loop i.e. during the last 6 hours in this example.
