Radar Slider
-
With the new(ish) forecast radar functionality, there needs to be some way to easily return to the “now” view. This could be a detent in the slider, a button or a gesture. As it stands, it is very difficult to position the slider exactly to the “now” position. I’m pretty sure a detent of sorts was previously implemented, but somehow it disappeared in one of the last few updates.

@inAjet Do you have the problem on mobile device, or desktop?
-
@Suty it is both in the iOS app and on the website. But I wouldn't really describe it as a problem; more so just a missing/desired feature. After panning through the historical and predicted radar timeline, it is often desired to return to the 'now' view, and with the slider there is no way to ensure it is centred. Ideally, the centre position would have a detent (it will jump to the centre when nearby) and have an associated haptic click. But a button or a gesture of some sort to force it to centre would also work. As I mentioned, I've brought this up in the past and I'm pretty sure it was implemented, but then at some point it disappeared. Hope this is something you'll consider adding again!

@inAjet I will discuss this with colleagues. There is a limitation that we don't have much space around the timeline to add more and more buttons.

@Suty great, thank you! Totally understand with the space limitation. That’s why I think a center detent with a haptic click would be the best implementation.

Hi @Suty, just following up to see if there's been any movement on this. Every time I use the radar I feel the need to have a way to return to the "now" image. With space being a limitation, a detent in the middle of the slider or a double tap on the slider might be the best way to go.
There's also another ongoing issue with the slider "jumping" to a different location after moving it. This has been going on for some time now, and affects both the radar and satellite, and perhaps other animations as well. Since there's no way to record my input on a screen recording, I took a video of the issue from another device.

@inAjet
Hi, when I want to see the last image of the Radar loop, I press the Play button and when it is close to “now” I press the Pause button.
