      New premium user in So Colorado. Surprised that there is no way to set thunderstorm alerts or other severe weather alerts, other than using the rain/windspeed alerts i guess. Hail is a significant issue here as well..Ive seen prior posts on that. Storms/microbursts sometimes arise without warning. Would be useful to be able to request alert for severe upcoming storms in a radius of several miles around point of interest. I see only the chance to set wind and temp alerts. Any way to do the thunderstorm/hail alert? I hate to need to use another app or website just to get those alerts

        @Ventilato
        Seems these types of live alerts are in the pipe.

          Hello, thank you for your suggestion.
          Alerts for approaching severe storms near a specific location are not available at this time. However, we fully recognize how useful such a feature would be. Our developers are already working on how such alerts could be implemented, and we hope a suitable solution will be found in the near future.
          In the meantime, you can monitor issued watches and warnings from the NWS on Windy.com, or — as you rightly mentioned — use the “My Alerts” feature for standard meteorological elements such as temperature, wind, precipitation, and so on.
          Thank you for your patience!
          Please, if you have any other questions, feel free to ask.
          Warm regards,
Jari

              I'd like to second that. Sometimes the weather forecast is not that bad, you go hiking into the mountains and then suddenly forms a huge hailstorm.
              My preferred solution would be that Windy uses my live location (not my favorites) and alerts me of an approaching severe storm (heavy rain, lightning, strong wind and/or hail) at least 1 hour in advance. Optionally I should be able to mute alerts when I'm just sitting at home.
