The Windy app forecast location applied to unincorporated areas around Gunter TX are showing a non-existent region or town name of "Elm View" which according to google maps and google earth is just a point in a forest north of Gunter TX. This point is nothing more than a point so why does the Windy app keep saying the forecast is for Elm View instead of Gunter which is the post office and school district that we are all associated with? There is ZERO association with that dimensionless point named Elm View. Where did Windy pick up this name for my location (which is miles away from that point)? Moreover, my development has a name, Hidden Lakes Ranch, so why does it not pick up that name if not just using Gunter TX?

Windy consistently shows incorrect locations. It’s been going on a long time. Whatever they use for locations is failing them. I only use windy for marine coastal weather and locations provided when one points to a spot is rarely correct. For instance. If I pick a point on the Gulf of America a 3-4 miles offshore between Naples and Bonita Springs on west Florida coast then select forecast for this location, it will say it’s Pelican Bay. Pelican Bay is on the east side off the island of Cayo Costa 27nm north off this location. I could name numerous other examples.

For offshore, I wish they’d just put the latitude & longitude and stop trying to equate offshore to an onshore location. I appreciate that onshore the app ought to be able to accurately determine where the point is. This isn’t that hard.
