Smoke models are needed
-
10 years ago in the upper midwest (US) we did not think about wildfire smoke. Now, for the past five years or so, every summer is "smoke season." Smoke is here to stay. Wildfires will continue to get worse.
There is post after post on this forum asking for smoke modeling. It exists in other apps, and NOAA has their own models for it. Even our local meteorologists are able to post smoke models on their blogs. Please incorporate it!
I've seen lots of suggestions to look at multiple models like PM2.5, CO, etc. to get a sense of things. Frankly that's not acceptable in a premium product. If there are already proven and useful models, why not incorporate them? Is it a licensing issue?
Thank you, and I hope to see smoke modeling available soon. We need it.

@robobo1 Hi, I hope you'll be pleased to hear that Windy.com has decided to add smoke forecasting to the app. Thank you very much for your suggestion. It’s thanks to posts like yours that we started considering the inclusion of this feature. We truly appreciate your help in shaping an app that’s as useful as possible for you. Warm regards, Jari
