@jack-thorgeirson Hello, we are constantly working on new features, Premium users may now set their default layer for instance. Default model is something we plan for the future as well.

@korina When? We have been asking for this for years.

@incrodato said in Default Forecast Model:

@korina hello, hope you take into account this feature soon, it's a bit annoying switching everytime from ECMWF to personal forecast choice.
It would be cool to hide some forecast model too.
              Thanks.

Indeed, this would be welcome :)
I think it's high time this option was available on Windy, at least for premium users at first. This is a really simple feature to implement, especially as similar options are already present in the app (position and start layer).

@eseltwift Hello, you can already save default forecast model. Choose the layer and model you desire, then go to settings -> Start-up layer -> Start-up layer -> Use last overlay. This will save layer and selected model as your default.

Hello @korina, it was a bit hidden but it does work. Thanks a lot!

@y_jeff Here in the north of Italy, Arome in better than ECMWF. It would be nice to be able to choose

UKV is much better in the UK. Completely baffled that this can’t be set as a default

@Korina That is the same solution recommended in 23654 which does not appear to work anymore.

@Trevor-Karjanis Hi, we are planning to add option to choose the default model for the visualization and forecast detail in upcoming months.

Is there a way to force Windy to always show your chosen, preferred forecast as the default / at the top of the 5 available models please ?

No matter what I change in my settings it always defaults to ECMWF whilst I would prefer UKV. Please advise ?

This is using the web version, Premium user, primarily using the wind selection, mainly on iPhone or iPad.

                              Thanks.

@Suty Thanks I’m really hoping this will be addressed soon, we now have a new hi-res Access forecast model for my part of Australia but I’m really tired of having to re-select it EVERY time I look at the app…

It would be great if the Favourite’s zoom level was saved between views as well!
