How to activate your Live Storm and Heavy Rain Alerts
-
@Nicole-Dolezalova Google Pixel 9 Pro XL/Android 16.
Maybe my "new" location was not pass to the Alerts system. If the refresh of my location in the Alerts system is higher than 3h, the situation can be considered as ok
I will add that my Google Pixel Watch 3 was giving me the weather in your app V43.0.2 on my watch for St-Raymond but i was 181 km away! The exact location of the thunderstorm.
Even if i open Google Maps on my phone, open your Windy software V46.1.0 on my phone and my watch, alerte continue to enter for St-Raymond. I can see that your Google Maps and your App locate me correctly.
But the alert was for the location i was 3h and 181Km before.
Not a big problem, alert are not often, and it's a good things.-Internet was not good at the destination but it was working.
I really like that new functionality. Thanks a lot

Hi, I’m trying to activate the Storms and Heavy Rain alerts, but the switches are still greyed out after I changed the Location permission to Always, and enabled notification.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app, and I also rebooted my phone, but the issue still persists.
Thanks for looking into it.
Version 48.1.2
iOS 26.2.1

I have location services turned to always and notifications turned on my iPhone for the windy app, but I can toggle on heavy rain and thunderstorms toggle

@Kevin-Cooper-2 I’m having an issue with the weather app. I tried turning on Storms and Heavy Rain alerts, but the switches are completely greyed out.
What I’ve done so far:
Set Location permission to Always ✅
Enabled Notifications ✅
Uninstalled & reinstalled the app on website 🔄
Restarted my phone 🔄
App version: 48.1.2
iOS: 26.2.1
Anyone else run into this? Any tips or fixes would be super helpful!
Thanks in advance 🙏 -
Thanks all for your sharing and support

@johny3245 Hello, may I ask what version of WIndy you have installed? You can find this information at the bottom of the menu.

I’m trying to enable push notifications for severe weather alerts on my Android phone, but every time I activate the option, I get this message:
WeatherAlert Error: Notification token could not be generated
The app has notification permissions enabled, battery optimization is disabled, and I’m using the latest version from Google Play.
Does anyone know what this error means? Is it related to Firebase, Android notification permissions, or something on the app server side?
Thanks.
