Wind forecast changes with sort order
-
Hello,
I've noticed something that's driving me a little crazy: I'm looking at tomorrow's wind forecast, by doing the following:- Click on a map point.
- Click "Forecast for this location".
- Click "Wind" at the bottom of the screen.
This gets all seven wind forecasts stacked, with ECMWF on top of the sort order. Nice. Next I do the following:
- Click "Basic".
- Click another model, e.g. HRRR.
- Click "Wind".
Again, we see the forecast, all seven models stacked, with HRRR at the top. However, tomorrow's numbers for the other models are significantly different!
I realize that the update rates are different among the models, but why would that make such a difference for tomorrow's forecast?
I've attached screenshots. Any advice is appreciated.

@mcricko Hello, do you meet this issue often or only sometimes? I can't replicate it and I would like to get further info to report this behavior.
-
@Suty I'll try again today and report back.

@Suty It's consistent. I repeated the experiment, this time with ECWMF, then GFS selected. For example, in the first screenshot, ECMWF for that location, Sunday 29 at 0500 shows wind at 13/18 kts. In the second, same location, same date/time ECMWF shows 15/20.:

@mcricko I think this is caused by the update of one of these models. In the first screenshot, update time is about 6 hours ago and ECMWF has updates 4 times per day, so I think this can be relevant.
I will monitor that situation today.
