      Hi All,

      TL;DR : Please add T-Satellite support ( email SatelliteApps@T-Mobile.com ).

Thanks for the excellent work done on Windy!

This winter, I plan to take part in a three month sea kayak expedition which is intended to cover the length of Baja California, in the Sea of Cortez , Mexico.

Wind, wave, and tide prediction are critical elements of mitigating risks for travel in this environment. Conventional cellular coverage is almost non-existent for most of the route. Starlink-mini appears to be a viable option but requires the substantial added complexity, weight, cost, and bulk of hardware, charging, and saltwater intrusion protection.

T-mobile has begun supporting satellite-to-mobile service using Starlink via T-Satellite . Initially, T-Satellite was only supporting SMS but they are expanding to include third-party app data for apps compatible with the satellite service.

“Any app developer interested in how to get their app optimized for satellite data can email SatelliteApps@T-Mobile.com.”

Please add T-Satellite support ( email SatelliteApps@T-Mobile.com ) to Windy.

      Appreciatively,

I second this request. Satellite updates to weather will soon be a required feature for me.
Last summer during a long sea kayak trip I had access to Windy Weather reports (via Starlink). It was a fantastic resource for planning and safety. Now that accurate weather forecasts while in the backcountry are becoming a possibility, they are a key feature of any weather program.
