Major radar issue, centered around Alassio, Italy...
-
Hi Team,
I am a weather enthusiast, but quite expert since I have more than 35 years of observation experience and co-own a Weather R&D company too.
I want to report that the radar around Alassio area in Italy is shifted to the WNW by about 20~30 km (just best guess by mixing on the ground observations and positioning of the rain showers, especially thunderstorms, over a two year period). It is not just a delay, is a wrong position. I have tried to cross with the only Italian radar of the area, and they seem to be correct, so I am suspecting that your blend between the radar in SE France (probably Nice) has wrong positioning.
Thank you for the attention,
Best Regards,
Simone -
Hi @Simone-Lussardi, thank You for reporting the issue. Our data for north-west of Italy come from 3 sources (that get composited into single final image):
- Italy: DPC
- France: Meteo-France
- Switzerland: MeteoSwiss
As far as I know all these sources should be correctly positioned. Do You have some specific time in which this wrong positioning happened so I can check more? Or even better, let me know here, when it happens again. That way source data is still available and finding real culprit will be much more precise (:
