Custom color scale changes map background to white
-
Hi Windy team,
I’ve noticed that when I apply a custom color scale for layers like precipitation, the base map background automatically switches from the default dark/gray style to a white one.
Is there a way to keep the original dark background (the default map color) while using a custom color scale for a layer?
Thanks.

Hi,
I suggest that you post a screenshot in your message to show clearly the problem.
In addition giving full details about your device, your OS and your browser would help. -
This is a screenshot. I just took two random pictures. But you can see that the Europe one is white (I changed the rain color scale) and the second picture is the one with the default color scale (grey/dark background) . I’m using an iPhone 16 pro max running iOS 18.5. Windy version is 46.04.

Thanks. I did it. I hope people can see the pictures. I just shared the link of my screenshots

I found the solution, thanks!
Thanks to your screenshot, I realized that the issue with the white map background after applying a custom color scale was caused by the color assigned to the zero value.
In my case, I had set 0 to a very light color close to white, which made the entire map background appear white.
I changed it to a dark gray instead, and now the map background looks just like the default again.
I just realized what you meant in the other topic 😂
Really appreciate your help
