Totally inaccurate visibility reports
-
There are large areas with very low vis due to forest fire smoke that don't show up in the visibility page.
Can you correct that? You show fire locations. It should be easy to deduce where smoke is obscuring things -

Windy cannot correct the weather model that provides visibility data and is computed by ECMWF.
This is what ECMWF says about this data:
“Predicting near surface visibility is dependent on predicting the correct dynamic and thermodynamic conditions in the boundary layer which can be highly variable. Fog is an extremely important weather hazard, but particularly difficult to predict.
The visibility diagnostic is an experimental product and the quality of this product is undergoing continued evaluation with the aim of improving the diagnostic and its usefulness. It should be used with caution; expectations regarding the quality of this product should remain low. Visibility products are currently made available so that they be evaluated and also to allow users to gain experience.”
