Problem with the visualization of NEMS.
-
I see tomorrow afternoon's rain maps for Greece.
Due to instability and daylight heating, both ECMWF and GFS show rain over mainland Greece.
https://www.windy.com/?rain,2017-06-25-15,39.249,22.786,6,m:eLragKt,a:FFMFF
https://www.windy.com/?gfs,rain,2017-06-25-15,39.249,22.786,6,m:eLragKt,a:FFMFF
Although the NEMS shows no rain for the same time (25 June/18:00)
https://www.windy.com/?mbeurope,rain,2017-06-25-15,39.249,22.786,6,m:eLragKt,a:FFMFF
if I you see the basic meteogram, there is 3,2 mm of rain.
https://www.windy.com/?mbeurope,rain,38.771,23.357,6,m:eLragKt,a:FFMFF,d:tn
It shows that the meteogram is correct but the rain field visualization is not. -
...... I take a look in meteoblue (were the data are coming from) and I realize that
there is the same problem in "weather maps" (precipitation for Sunday afternoon)
https://www.meteoblue.com/en/weather/map/precipitation/greece
but .... there is no problem in "weather maps/New"
https://www.meteoblue.com/en/weather-maps/preveza_greece_254698?variable=precipitation3h_cloudcover_pressure&level=surface&lines=none&mapcenter=38.9562N20.7505&zoom=6So, I beleve that the problem starts from meteoblue.

... I found the cause!
The meteoblue visualizes 1 hr preci. and 3hr preci. for Greece with the same image!
https://www.meteoblue.com/en/weather/map/precipitation1h/greece
https://www.meteoblue.com/en/weather/map/precipitation/greeceBut this doesn't happens for other countries!

As a general remark, it should be noted that
visualization software, sometimes, present "fake images" from the data that take
from the models.
We, meteorologists, must take into account the synoptic situation before we write down a forecast.
MODELS GIVE OUTPUTS, METEOROLOGISTS PROVIDE FORECASTS.
