Please consider changing the selection city labels that are displayed in the map.

I find it very hard to find anything on the map. Since almost all map features are hidden by the weather overlay, city labels are basically the only way for orientation. But the current algorithm is not showing the "right" cities. For example, in this picture, Frankfurt (750000 inhabitants) is shown the same size as Burgsinn (2307 inhabitants), Hanau (100000 inhabitants) is not shown at all.

Please consider displaying only large cities at low zoom levels, and smaller and smaller cities as the zoom level gets higher.

      Thanks.

@user4799 We use still the same system, where we display cities to cover the map in certain balance everywhere. So if, for example, two large cities are close to each other, probably one of them won't be displayed in lower zoom levels, but certain smaller city, which is in "the middle of nowhere" can be displayed on that level.

Yes, that is what I thought, and I'm trying to convince you that it is a bad idea:

          1. In reality there are densely and barely populated areas. This structure helps a lot when you look at a map - except the Windy map, because there the city lables are everywhere.

          2. The only way to find out what I am looking at is reading the city labels. But I have to read many of them, because most of the labels are for some village I have never heard of.

I have looked at other weather maps. Some of them have a smarter selection of city labels. Some rely more on making highways or state borders more visible. In most of them I find it much easier to find things on the map.
