"First Model" can no longer be selected when spot location FC is set to Wind; stays locked to ECMWF
-
In the southwestern USA, the ECMWF model is wildly wrong. Here we use HRRR or NAM.
For several months now, whenever we select "forecast for this location," It is only possible to set the First Model to something other than ECMWF if you are looking at Basic. If you choose a another model, for example HRRR, and then select wind, it reverts to ECMWF, not the model you picked.
This behavior was not present several versions ago.
It is an extremely annoying bug, particularly because of the wildly inaccurate results that ECMWF gives for our area.
Please refer to the attached screenshot where you can see that choosing any other model is grayed out.

On iOS, my screenshot setup is different. HRRR model remains enabled, as indicated by the white rectangle and arrow.

In your screenshot there is a contradiction since under the table, ECMWF is displayed while in the model line it is HRRR.
Have you checked which model the wind layer is from? -
Thank you for your reply.
The wind layer model is ECMWF, regardless of what the highlighted selection is.
The consequence of this bug is that I can no longer rely on the multi model "forecast at this location" to display the wind layer of the first model that I want to select.
I'm having to tediously select one of the three reliable models ( HRRR NAM, and GFS) from the main menu, then position to crosshairs over the spot I'm interested in and look at the wind reading in the upper left. I I have to repeat this process three times to get a comparison.
Android is often ignored as a platform when people develop their applications. Not sure why, this is a problem across multiple different applications. This despite the fact that Android has greater market share than iOS.
