Satellite images

Hello,
Is there an option to turn off day/night in satellite images?
The night imagery doesn’t show clouds until day time.

@Troy-Pertzel Hi, could you please specify your question in more detail?
Windy displays satellite data from both the visible and infrared spectrum. Measurements in the visible spectrum are only available during daylight hours, while infrared data is available 24 hours a day. In the "VIS" product, visible imagery is shown during the day and infrared imagery at night — which is why clouds may appear more detailed during the day than at night. It is not possible to change this setting.
Thanks for your question. Jari -

The succession of day and night everywhere on earth is an evidence that everyone admit. You cannot turn it off.
When the satellite take the picture above your region during the night it can only do it in the infrared spectrum and it cannot give the same rendering as during the day with the daylight. -
Hello Jari,
I would like to know if there is a specific reason why the GeoColor satellite layer hasn’t been implemented on Windy yet, or if you are planning to add this feature in the future.
Honestly, for an app of Windy’s level, it feels quite surprising not to have this option, especially considering that even the most basic weather apps offer something similar.
I don’t mean to sound rude, and I apologize if I do, but I truly believe that a GeoColor satellite layer combined with Windy’s animations would be spectacular.
I’m not suggesting replacing the current satellite view, but rather offering both options, as this has been a highly requested feature from users for many years now.
Thank you very much.

@michele7 Hi, thank you for your question. Windy.com is currently considering increasing the number of satellite channels available, which could allow us to offer new products like GeoColor in the future.
However, it always depends on current priorities and where our development efforts are focused at the moment.
Hopefully, we’ll be able to bring this to you soon.
Have a great day, Jari
