      Buongiorno, questa mattina ci troviamo nei pressi di Kalamos e Kastos l' app dice che ci sono 2 kn di vento da nord. In realtà stiamo nel bel mezzo di raffiche a 30 nodi. Come è possibile che accadano questi errori?

        I guess you were using the default model in Windy i.e. the ECMWF model with the Wind layer which is the averaged wind over 10 minutes.
        If you want to get the better forecast of gusts you need to use the Wind gusts layer and if possible a model with a better resolution than the one of ECMWF (9km). In Greece the model with a higher resolution is NEMS (4km). At 6 o’clock local time this model was forecasting 19 knots gusts.

        In the vicinity of Kalamos and Kastos, the mountainous environment by NE flux may give strong and gusting wind similar to katabatic winds, not easy to forecast at a local scale.

          @idefix37
          ... also with NE flow as the wind is funneling between the two islands.
          Another interesting case, described here

            You are right. Sorry, I was thinking northeast winds like this morning. Just a typo that I'll correct in my post. Thanks.
