Radar+
-
Good morning, I wanted to ask if you can make the radar+ complete by also covering areas where there is no precipitation with the use of AI, for example in Africa it is not possible to see the precipitation from the radar because there are no physical radars while from other sites it is possible in all areas of the world regardless of where the physical radars are or are not, then if you could always directly integrate the differentiation between rain and snow with 2 different colors in this radar

@anemometrus
Same as what meteoblue does
-
@idefix37 on windy if you go to radar plus and go to Africa it does not overlap the precipitation like on meteoblue as you showed me
-
@anemometrus
In Windy there is no radar data displayed over Africa.
Do you mean the radar-like in meteoblue does match cloud picture in Windy ? -
@idefix37 why don't they just overlay the meteoblue radar on windy to complete it?
-
@anemometrus
I don’t know. -
@idefix37 Who can I write to to resolve the problem?
-
@anemometrus
Administrators and developers read the threads on this forum. -
@anemometrus For now, we want to offer only real-time measured data in our Radar layer, no computations.
-
@Suty ok
-
@Suty in the future can be included as an option? would make the radar very complete for every part of the world
-
@anemometrus I can discuss it with colleagues on our meeting, if this is considered.
-
@anemometrus
You can see the "rain, thunderstorm" layer that covers the whole world.
Of course it is not real radar data (there are not radars everywhere!).
If we mix in a single layer, real data (from radar) with forecast or AI generated data is like mixing apples with oranges. -
@Gkikas-LGPZ understand, I mean a bit like integrating radar and satellite together they are 2 different things but overlapping they give a complete picture, however windy is a very complete app and the best in the world in my opinion
-
Here we have an INFRA+ imagery
with SAT and RAD activated.
If you deactivate RAD , you'll have this ...

... with colored cold cloud tops.
-
@Gkikas-LGPZ questo mi aiuta a capire dove piove anche in zone non coperte da radar?
-
@anemometrus
Yes. Cold cloud tops are often associated with heavy rain. Especially in areas with "bright white" colour in VIS satellite channel.
