<![CDATA[Isolines of temperature seem so smooth]]>Here is a 850 hPa temperature map with isotherms (isolines of temperature).

Although the temp. in a location is 14 C,
lines of 17 and 15C are not shown.
(I have drawn it by hand - yellow lines).

Maybe you have to adjust the smoothing factor for the isolines.
