When using Distance & Planning (am using a Samsing Android device) there is a dotted vertical line in the centre of the data section that determines the current relative location.
The data can be moved left and right by swiping. However when you reach the end left or right by such scrolling then you are not at the end of the data each way. That in itself is a UI failure, easily likely easily fixable by making the scrolling "div" wider each wayt by a dynamic calculation of the unavailable section width there.
Eventually you work out an unintuitive behaviour that you can tap on the data section remaining and get to the point in the relative timeline you want to see - that moves the dotted line. However then if you go back to scrolling the line jumps back to its centre location.
So there is no way to scroll seamlessly from the start to the end of the line - that is the bigger picture UI bug that needs rectifying, in whatever way deemed appropriate - my suggestion would be as above just make the scrollable "div" wider and do without the tapping behaviour on mobile.

Tapping allows to get the small grey panel displaying distance and date/time. Hard to do without it. But I agree it’s not intuitive.

@idefix37 you are correct, so tapping is doing double duty - one to bring up that information, so it is needed for that, and two to bring the timeline line to a specific point.
It is the inability to just scroll to the left and right-most areas that is an issue, since it is unintuitive to know that is what you may need to do, and it prevents just being able to scroll end to end along the route.
If on the other hand it is regarded that tapping is the way to move around the timeline, then there is conversely an issue with the scrolling. It removes the tapped line and grey box data and the position now jumps to that indicated by the centre line.
          Either way, a bug.

I don’t think so or you could say a non-friendly UI, but not a bug. On the narrow screen of a phone in portrait mode, scrolling the table is needed to see all parts of this table. Once you know that you need to tap on the table to synchronise time and position of the mobile on the route, I do not see where is the bug.
On the wide screen of desktop/laptop you can see the whole table and you need to click and scroll with the mouse to move the grey panel through the table. It is not intuitive too.
On mobile for setting departure time, how do you know that you have to scroll the timeline ? Some users don’t find how the change the departure time…

By the way in the tutorial about “How to plan your trip with windy.com”, the explanation for a mobile device using the Route planner is wrong.
It is said that you just need to scroll the timeline to see how the weather is expected during the journey.
This is only valid for the browser version not for the mobile app (which is the case shown in this tutorial).

The Distance & Planning feature works well overall, but the current position sometimes jumps back to the center unexpectedly. It would be helpful if the map maintained the user’s position smoothly for better navigation and planning accuracy.

Have you read my posts here above?
Especially the first one, the one with the drawing.
And have you ever actually used this planner?
