      @BertBril Very well said.

@Windy Team: Please keep user interaction with core functionality as is. To be more precise, revert some of the negative things, that were introduced during the last weeks (see above).

      Thank you.

@Ftjwinfs RIght now, there are no changes planned for this mode switcher. I am sorry about it.

          @Suty Thank you.

Really, really sad, that the developers apparently cannot unterstand our constructive feedback.

Would it be possible that you share what the reasons were to implement (and keep) the current approach?

@Ftjwinfs I will do my best. To be sure, do you mean that change of model switcher, when the detail is open, correct?

@Suty Exactly, I mean this whole issue of the new approach to change the weather model.

              • Before: One click to change the model.
              • Intermediate approach: A menu that open on click to then select the model.
              • Now: A new horizontal bar with full length across the screen which shows available models. This task-bar automatically closes after a number of seconds.

I assume, that some developer really, really loves his new horizontal bar...

Please, at least deactivate the "feature", that the bar automatically vanishes/closes after a certain number of seconds. It seriously drives me crazy, when apps think they know better than myself what I want. If I open the bar to see different models I DO NOT want it to vanish after a number of seconds. I want it to stay open, until I BY MYSELF decide to close it.

              Thank you.

@Suty since the selection bar for the weather models still automatically vanishes, every word from my cited post above is still valid.

                    Any news on this?

It is so sad this can't be natively implemented. And such a simple request with so many interested users and 11k views on the topic.

I have made myself a tempermoneky script to solve this for myself. It may got broken from release to release but at least makes the windy usable.

You can switch between the models
For me the windows of model list on iPad stay open.

@idefix37 Switching was always possible, this topic was never about switching not working. It was about convenience.

As you showed model switcher work, and it always worked. Only thing before was that you can select location and switch model just with one click and see detailed forecasts at a location.

I am not sure why you say it stays opened.

For me this is not the case. Tested in chrome, it vanishes after few seconds when not focused with the mouse pointer. Unless there is some other way to pin it...

I have checked with Chrome and Safari on desktop.
Yes, with these browsers the windows of the model list do vanish.
But not on my iPad with Safari.

How is it possible to explain this differences ?
What is the normal behavior of these windows ?

@idefix37 If we talk about the model selection on the desktop, in the forecast detail, this is correct that it is automatically closed, but the mobile interface does this as well.

I had checked and I double-checked these windows for model selection on my iPad (15.8.5).

                                  With the mobile app:
The pinned list of models stays open, but not on iPhone.
The list of models below the detailed forecast panel closes automatically.

                                  With the browser version
The list of models that you can open at bottom right corner of screen stay open.
The list of models below the detailed forecast panel stay open

Really? That is interesting. For me the list of models closes after a few seconds (Windy in Browser).

@Ftjwinfs Unfortunately I think they will never change this. This thread has 14k plus views and going for a very long time, there is so much interest in having model picker sticky or at least always visible but devs just have some other reasons not to implement this.

I have made myself a javascript code which holds model opened in the browser indefinetely. Works fine but does not work ofc. in the mobile app.

Meanwhile I have canceled my premium subscriptions. I will not pay for something which makes me nervous while using it.

If you need a script for a browser you can use cgpt plus tempermonkey add-on.
