Waves animation over land at certain zoom levels

Subscriber, logged in.When I select the "Waves" layer from the menu and zoom in to a map level that shows place names / mountain heights and walking trails etc, I see the wave animations over the land as well as the sea.
If I zoom out, the waves are only visible in the sea / water areas.
I also see the same issue in the iOS app version.

This anomaly can be seen everywhere, not just on the Isle of Skye, near the Talisker Distillery :)

I guess the wave direction data tiles (animated particles) aren not masked by the shoreline contours at this zoom level, as they should be.
The masking process for these tiles should be the same at this zoom level as the wave height example shown here:
