how to disable articles in the app
-
Hello, I clicked on my Windy app today and I had an article recommended to me "The Science Behind The Colorful Images We See Practically Every Day". I do not like to see articles and until now I liked that Windy was a place free of news, articles, and noise. Is there a way to disable articles so they don't get recommended to me in the future?
I would appreciate any help with this, thank you in advance!

@Alba-Arifi Hello, thank you for your feedback. At the moment, the article is offered 3 times, after which it should no longer appear. Having the option to turn off the notification is a practical idea. I’ll discuss it with my colleagues. Have a nice day, Jari

@Jari-Sochorová Yes, please allow us to disable the articles. The articles are like the annoying popups that used to litter the web or cookie consent confirmations.
They are irrelevant and therefore annoying to most people.
I use the app to check the weather not to read articles. I imagine this is the use case for 99% of people.
The articles discourage me from using the app because everytime I open the app I have to click the close button on something that provides no value.
Additionally, because I immediately am trained to click close, if Windy does want to use this space in the future to alert about a potential disaster in my area or something (I wouldn't see it because I would have immediately dismissed it, kinda like in the story "the boy who cried wolf")
Please, please, please at least provide a mechanism to allow us to disable it. 🙏🙏🙏
It's the only thing that keeps me from wholeheartedly loving and recommending the app.

Did you do a thorough investigation to claim this?
If you saw the number of people who upvoted these articles, you wouldn't say that! -
@Jari-Sochorová Jari thank you so much for your reply! I think it is a good idea to leave the option to turn it off. I don’t think many people will use it, but some people who are annoyed by articles like me might find it super helpful. I use Windy a lot and that feature would help me so much! Thank you for considering it!
