@Suty said in Setting Radar replay speed is gone:

Update for now, we will consider potential adjustments in this, however, we want to keep getting data about this new interface firstly.

      Hi.
I am happy about the news. I hope it will produce a useful result for us.

Bring back the replay speed options and get rid of the large gray box that was added

Very discouraging to see this removed as a feature. Major regression. Please bring this feature back as it was very helpful.

Let me add data about this new interface. Radar speed selection needs to change back. I hope additional comments will help to drive this potential adjustments.

@Suty Please consider the removal of any controls is a downgrade for the user. There is no reason to over-simplify in the desktop use case, as there is ample real estate for these options and it is not constrained by a crowded UI on such a large screen interface.

@Suty And, not to be rude, but maybe consider adjustments BEFORE releasing a new interface. If you're going to outright remove a control, poll your users to see how many would object.

@Suty This is a feature that I love to use, to either slow down a replay or to speed it up. It is very helpful in identifying whether a storm is intensifying or dissipating and determining if a storm is heading for us or if it will miss us.

Plus, there use to be an option to view a replay in 1 hour replay, 6-hour replay and 12 hours. Now the 12-hour option has been removed, and we have a 24-hour option. How are these changes any kind of an upgrade? The options are still available in the app on the phone, but not for the laptop, which has a much bigger screen.

As mentioned by other users, taking away a useful feature is regressing. AccuWeather did the same thing, and I dropped them. Please reconsider.

@Suty... Is the brains trust considering still?? As a longish term paying customer of several years now, who has voiced their displeasure at your recent update/downgrade of a fundamental function. Are we now just to accept that we will no longer have the speed option that, by the general reaction and response, is missed and wanted back.
We also seem to have inherited that exceptionally unappealing block at the bottom of the map.
It really is an eyesore. May I ask what purpose does it serve my friend? I fail to see what we have gained with it.

I'm also disappointed by this change. Honestly, I felt like I was going crazy. This is such a basic and essential feature, I couldn't imagine it would be removed on purpose.

Plenty of room in that giant gray block to add this back.

Unrelated, but I am using Mac Safari "Add to Dock" and it has started signing me out every 2-3 days. Will almost definitely not be renewing.

@Hippie02 Still struggling with the reasoning for the removal of what was a standard feature with the radar replay speed. The one-hour replay is too slow, and the archive speed is way too fast. Don't know how a feature can be removed without some notice to subscribers first or a poll to see how popular it is. For someone that is 71 years old, looking at the radar on a laptop screen is a lot easier than on a tiny phone screen. Did anyone think about that???

If the website is going to regress, maybe the premium subscription ought to, also.

Please reconsider and bring it back.

                          Thanx.

@Suty Youre an admin and bummer the comm lands on you. But Im on team why-on-earth-is-this-missing. I had hoped it was a temporary oversight, but this is 12weeks now. There are practical reasons why a user wants to view playback at different speeds, especially when switching periods. Please continue to push this feature back to the team and reinstitute sensible playback controls. I still cannot understand why this was even considered for removal...

@Suty any news on it's return? I am thinking of cancelling my sub just on the lack of this feature alone

Many thanks to the developers who listen to the wishes and concerns of their users. I hope it stays this way and there are no further experiments with the GUI.

@cschon It's BACK! Thank you for listening. It's not perfect; it gets faster as it goes through the loop, but at least it's there.
                                        Thank you so much!
